It is the best latex rubber because it is all natural. The product I use is called Mold-All 61-1000. It has the consistency of sour cream. It can be used for fine detail. We buy it by the barrel to use on large objects like dinosaurs, cliff faces, dinosaur trackways as well as small stuff. It has a very low ammonia smell to it compared to the craft kind and can be made thin by adding water. A good natural fiber brush is best for application. The best molds are 6-7 layers thick with a layer of cheesecloth at layer 4. Some of our molds are 20 years old and still useable. The secret is a good warm water soapy cleaning after using plastics such as polyester resin or polyurethane. This latex rubber can't handle wax and oil based mediums. Last year's price was $US43.68/gal. It is cheaper by the barrel but they do supply it in 5 gal. pails. .
